At Callistemon, students use technologies to create, communicate and visualise their learning. They access information via Connect (The Education Channel) and research or complete projects and present their work using a variety of software tools and multimedia.
Students communicate via the school’s intranet and extranet and globally through the use of Web2.0 applications (Wikis and blogs) and ePals projects.
The Callistemon campus provides a cross platform (WIndows and Mac) environment. Each classroom consists of fully networked computers and wireless technology enables the use of portable computing. The Multimedia Suite facilitates the production of film, audio and animation. Students also have access to a computer lab, portable macbook computers, video and still cameras, scanners, ipods, digital microscopes, lego robotics and other peripherals.
Teachers use IWb’s to create engaging and interactive lessons and student work is shared with the community, through our school website.
