Our program focuses on guiding students as they explore their strengths, develop independence, and begin shaping their future pathways.
Program Overview
The Year 9 Inspire Program supports students to develop the personal, interpersonal, and intellectual skills required for success in senior schooling and beyond. We provide structured opportunities that encourage curiosity, resilience, leadership, teamwork, and self-reflection.
Key Features of the Year 9 Inspire Program
Diverse Learning Pathways
- A broad selection of electives that allow students to explore areas of interest and develop new skills.
- City Experience Inquiry Project, where students investigate urban environments, develop research skills, and apply real-world problem solving.
Careers and Pathway Planning
- Students complete their Morrisby Career Profiles, gaining insights into their strengths, interests, and possible future pathways.
- Each student participates in a one-on-one careers interview with a qualified expert to help them interpret their Morrisby results and plan next steps.
- Excursions to universities and TAFEs as part of the careers module, giving students firsthand exposure to tertiary study options.
Camps and Experiential Learning
- Participation in the Rubicon Camp, where students develop teamwork, leadership, resilience, and confidence through outdoor education and adventure-based learning.
Student Engagement & Enrichment
- Opportunities for involvement and leadership, including:
- Student Representative Council (SRC)
- Duke of Edinburgh Award Program
Wellbeing & Personal Development
- Targeted wellbeing programs including:
- Exam preparation and resilience training
- A range of guest speakers, workshops, and incursions focused on mental health, respectful relationships, and positive decision-making.
