Program Overview

The Sports Science Academy at The Grange P-12 College is a select entry program that develops student athletes through a high-performance academic and sporting environment that supports excellence, wellbeing and personal growth. The program encompasses six pillar sports: Rugby (League and Union), Volleyball, Basketball, Netball, Flag Football, and Athlete Development.

Sports Science at The Grange P-12 College pursues the development of sporting ability through an academic lens, building student capacity across a variety of roles within sporting environments. Student Athletes receive specialised physical and theoretical training in our state-of-the-art facilities, with practical components complemented by evidence-based theory designed to engage and challenge students to critically examine process and design within the sporting industry.

All students participating in the program uphold the College Values of Respect, Learning and Working Together, alongside program-specific values that support integrity within sport — Strong, Proud and Humble.

The Sports Science Academy is offered to students from Grade 4 to Year 12, with training and academic programs tailored to the developmental needs of each year level. We encourage families to contact the College to learn more about the program. Major intake Year levels are Grade 4, Year 7 and Year 11; however, Student Athletes must trial every year to ensure students continue to demonstrate the values, commitment and standards expected of The Grange P-12 College Sports Science Academy. Participation in one year does not guarantee acceptance in future years. Student Athletes must uphold all areas of the Student Athlete Agreement and Selection Policy.

Given the high demand from currently enrolled students seeking to transition into the Sports Science Academy, early contact with the College is strongly recommended.

The Academy welcomes applications from students who demonstrate leadership potential, a commitment to personal growth, a passion for sport and learning, and an aspiration to pursue future pathways within sport, health or related industries.
